Pennant Bowling at EPSC
Elsternwick Park Bowls Club competes in the Bayside Pennant. We have over 100 pennant players representing our club each week,
fielding teams in:
- Tuesday morning pennant (VLBA)-2 sides-32 players
- Tuesday night pennant (electric light) 2 sides-32 players-flag winners in 2008
- Saturday afternoon pennant (RVBA)3 sides 48 players
Our greens are always open for pennant players to practice, and we have club practice from 4pm onwards on a Thursday.
Coaches are provided free of charge.
We do take our pennant seriously, and are known by other clubs to field strong competitive sides. We continually hear other
teams enjoy a day out at Elsternwick Park, offering great greens, great sportsmanship, and lovely fresh rolls for afternoon tea.
If you are reading this and thinking of giving it a try here are some extra benefits of playing pennant:
- Meet new clubs/players every week of all age groups.
- Improve your game.
- Get that competitive streak happening each week.
- Be part of a team.
- Nice afternoon teas (most of the time!) MCC provide nice fresh scones.
- 4km walk at a nice pace.
- If you play pennant, you are also entitled to enter in the Australian open (not many sports allow this to happen so easily)
So come on, get off the couch, and get amongst it with us.....
(To the theme of the Monkees song)
“Hey Hey we’re the Wickers, we’re into resting touchers,
so we hope you like our ground.........”
